- It all started with the traditional blackboard. In the 70s and 80s, blackboards were the only means to present facts and ideas. In the mid 80s, an extension of the blackboard was developed, known as the whiteboard. It was possible to add more emphasis to certain facts by using the different colors in the whiteboards.
- In the late 1980s, a device called as overhead projector entered into the market. The device helped in projecting images on a screen. It was in demand because it saved lot of time of the organization in the presentation schedules.
- In the 1990s, presentation software called PowerPoint was introduced by IT giant, Microsoft. It helped the hosts in presenting the matter in an effective way by the use of slides. In addition, the software enabled them in adding videos for more detailed study.
- PowerPoint is in demand till now and now days, a lot of variations of this software have also emerged with more user friendly features.
